A text on the Platform Work Directive has now been agreed. While this could have been worse - there is no hard presumption of employment - and freelancing is accepted across Europe, much of the detail has been left to EU Member States to decide.

Countries will have two years from when the Directive is formally signed to  implement the legislation at the national level. This will mean that national governments will have significant flexibility to shape the laws as they see fit.

The importance of us working at the national level to raise our voices, provide our input and shape the legislation so that it benefits freelancers is vital. I will reach out to you in the coming weeks with more information on how you can act.
