Protect the Rights and Choices of NDIS Participants
The issue
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a vital program that supports hundreds of thousands of Australians with significant and permanent disabilities. It is designed to provide these individuals with the resources they need to live their lives as independently as possible. However, recent changes threaten to take away choice and control from NDIS participants, undermining the very essence of this critical program.
The proposed changes could limit participants' ability to choose their own providers or manage their own funds - a fundamental aspect of the NDIS since its inception in 2013. This not only infringes on personal freedoms but also risks reducing the quality and suitability of services received by those who rely on them most.
According to data from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), there were half million active participants in the NDIS as at 2024. These are individuals whose daily lives depend on maintaining control over their care choices.
We must ensure that these voices are heard, that their rights are protected, and that they continue to have choice and control over their services under NDIS. We call upon policymakers not only to halt any changes that would reduce these rights but also actively work towards enhancing them further.

If small businesses if soletrades are forced to get registered Out of cost that they can't afford they won't be able to serve us no more
