Thank you for supporting Edna's Law and for continuing to share the petition with others. So many new whistleblowing cases come in all the time that we're sorry we don't get time to post updates often enough but we hope you'll have time to read this about Hillgreen. Last week CQC announced a review of sexual assault and harassment on NHS mental health wards but in our experience, when the Care Quality Commission (CQC) say they are concerned about any topic, it is because they have been caught out, just as they have been regarding Hillgreen. There was information leaked about this care home, as always there are individuals who do their best to protect people. More people will speak up sooner to prevent such suffering when they know they will be protected by Edna's Law. That's why your support is so valuable. Please read about the Serious Case Review (SCR), a process often used after safeguarding authorities have been involved in appalling failures and want to exonerate themselves of any blame by enacting an inquiry into their actions - that subsequently never finds anyone responsible and holds no one to account. This particular SCR is a spectacular example of this type of self-preservation. Incidentally, since we asked "Should Head of CQC David Behan be knighted?" after journalist Andrew Norfolk published the Hillgreen case in The Times, Behan's CQC colleague Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, has been made a CBE.
