After hearing the latest news on the government banning the breed of American Bully XL, I felt disgusted!

I understand the recent/past events that people want justice or for something to be done to prevent such horrible things happening again. I can only try to understand how some people/families/parents must be feeling and my heart goes out to them however, banning this breed is not the answer!

The government need to take a closer look at why this is happening and by looking at the other end of the lead, they will find the reason why!

All dogs can attack if threatened or TRAINED.

Some people with no real love or care for animals are in business and use this particular breed of dog to make money because they are guaranteed return. The use these dogs inappropriately as weapons, using force such as physical abuse and drugs to enhance muscle size and aggression. These dogs are not cared for and are badly mistreated.

We would not ban a race of human so why are we banning a breed of dog?

As humans, we can act out of character at times and often pay the price. When a dog attacks, unfortunately there is no rehabilitation as we cannot risk the uncertainty of it happening again so there is no other option but to put the dog to sleep. But not all American Bully XL dogs are bad but all attacks that you hear of have been by this breed. You never hear of the attacks made by other dogs.

So do we end up banning all dogs? No, the simple answer is to ban certain people from owning a dog. More background checks should be completed before allowing anyone to own a dog or a cat. These days you can't buy a gold fish without having to sign a disclaimer. Too many pets are being neglected, used in criminal activity or left at the side of the road to rott. This is unfair and needs to stop! Government re-evaluation is in order! The dogs cannot speak up for themselves so together let's push this petition and save the pets!
