The Issue

Application Number: CPA-202500012
Project: Holder Industrial Park Expansion – Citrus County, Florida

WE ARE CITRUS COUNTY RESIDENTS who have formed a grassroots movement to stop our PDC and Board Of County Commissioners from approving the rezoning of the Holder Industrial Park to potentially open the door for a MASSIVE DATA CENTER on over 800 acres in Northern Citrus County Florida.

We are reaching out to you because we’d like to share our concern for the protection of the Nature Coast and all of its priceless natural resources and environment. The focus of our effort is stopping this potential data center from being established here in Citrus County.

In addition, data centers operate 24/7 and produce continuous low-frequency noise that travels long distances and does not dissipate easily. This type of noise can disrupt sleep, increase stress, and negatively impact the health and quality of life of nearby residents, including children in schools.

The proposed location is near Lecanto & Hwy 41 and would deplete our natural resources, pollute the water, and add permanent noise & light pollution. The State of Florida has granted Citrus County $3 million to push this project through, advancing the agenda of majority landowner, Deltona Corporation.

The small towns of Hernando & Holder (in Citrus County) will feel the greatest impact, but all of us residing in the Nature Coast area of Citrus County will suffer in the short and long term. The fight begins with stopping the rezoning of Holder Industrial Park as well as promoting the establishment of strict ordinances moving forward to regulate all industrial development.

Can we count on you and your organization to join us in this critical fight? We need numbers. We need voices. We need concerned citizens! If you are ready to join this fight, or simply want more information, please contact us at:
