I am advocating for a cause that speaks close to my heart. It involves a K9, a canine partner to our brave law enforcement officers, who was mistreated by a border patrol agent. Just like every creature, K9s have rights, and they should not be subjected to any harm.

Recently, I came across an appalling incident wherein a K9 providing service at the borders was being harshly mistreated by an agent. It struck a personal chord, as the treatment was far from what these loyal animals deserve. They commit their lives in the line of duty, contributing significantly to our safety.

It's essential to understand the magnitude of their service. According to The National Police Dog Foundation, these K9 officers can detect approximately 19,000 explosive scents and play a crucial role in around 10 million passenger screenings at US airports daily, saving countless lives.

Yet, despite their contribution, their rights and safety are often overlooked. This incident is just one of the uncountable injustices K9s face across the nation. It's time we stand up for them.
