Our beloved Circus Circus Hotel/Casino has not just been a place for entertainment, but an emblem of transformation for Las Vegas. Its establishment in 1968 revolutionized the face of Las Vegas, turning the city from an adult-only playground into a destination for families worldwide.

This isn't just about memories, countless photographs, or even the unparalleled joy that Circus Circus has given to millions of families, including mine. It's about preserving a part of history that has made Las Vegas a go-to place for everyone—adults and kids alike.

The Circus Circus Hotel/Casino is more than just a building. Its unique architecture, designed by Rissman and Rissman, has been a key feature of the Las Vegas skyline for the past five decades (Las Vegas Review Journal). It's a symbol of over 50 years of fun, laughter, and family joy.

In addition, according to a 2020 report from the American Gaming Association, the hotel-casino industry in Las Vegas supports more than 430,000 jobs, providing over $20 billion in wages. As part of that industry, Circus Circus plays a crucial role in supporting the local economy (American Gaming Association).

The iconic Circus Circus Hotel/Casino is a testament to a more inclusive Las Vegas, a relentless pioneer, an irreplaceable part of our history, and a significant component of our economy. Is it old? Yes.  Is it worn and dated? Yes.  But is there a place along the strip for a re-imagined Circus Circus for the 21st century?  Of course there is. Let's cherish it, let's protect it, and let's ensure future generations have the chance to experience, first-hand, the magic of Circus Circus.
