The Gallatin River in southwest Montana is an important ecological and recreational resource that deserves permanent protection. Movies have been filmed on the Gallatin and over 500 people count on the river for jobs. Countless visitors come to the Gallatin river corridor to see its wide diversity of fish, bird, wildlife, and plant species, including threatened and endangered species such as the Arctic grayling and westslope cutthroat trout. The river ensures ranchers and landowners have clean, clear water.

 Cottonwood Environmental Law Center, Gallatin Wildlife Association, and Montana Rivers have filed a lawsuit to prevent the resort town of Big Sky from dumping its treated waste water directly into the Gallatin River. Please sign the petition to tell the Montana Legislature and the Department of Environmental Quality to permanently protect the Gallatin River as an Outstanding Resource Water.
