I am a student from Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. Every day on my way to school, I used to see the majestic Philippine eagle soaring high in the sky. However, these sightings have become increasingly rare due to habitat loss and hunting. The Philippine eagle is critically endangered with less than 400 pairs left in the wild according to BirdLife International.

The survival of this magnificent bird is under threat due to deforestation and illegal hunting practices. It's not just about preserving a symbol of our national pride; it's about maintaining biodiversity and ensuring that future generations can also marvel at these incredible creatures.

We urge local authorities in Taguig City and Metro Manila as well as national government bodies responsible for wildlife conservation to implement stronger measures against illegal hunting and promote efforts towards reforestation.
