Thanks for signing our petition calling for protection of The Crystals at Williamstown Beach by extending the boundary of Jawbone Marine Sanctuary.
And thanks to Scott from The Nature Conservancy for explaining the urchin culling program to us last week (picture above).
Jawbone Marine Sanctuary Care Group is working on a detailed submission to the government about the boundary change proposal and we need your support to gather the information we require.
This Saturday 28th February we are holding a community forum about the proposed new boundaries of the expanded marine sanctuary.
At the forum we will:
- Provide background information about the proposed extension.
- Explain what is required for the extension to be approved.
- Discuss how the community can support the proposal.
- Explain what you can do to help us.
- Ask you for information you may have that will help us.
- Plan the next steps to get government commitment to extend the Jawbone Marine Sanctuary.
- Explore other options to protect The Crystals.
