The Minister for the Environment (Victoria) The Hon. Steve Dimopoulos visited The Crystal Steps this morning and spoke with locals including Kate from The Snorkel Sisters, Sandy and David from Jawbone Marine Care Group and Jason from Williamstown Open Water Swimmers.

The minister was supportive but informed us he has committed to "no new sanctuaries."

Our proposal is to modestly expand the boundaries of Victoria's smallest marine sanctuary to approximately the original proposal when these marine sanctuary areas were first created.

The minister did not rule that out and encouraged to promote the issue. He thanked us for all the work we've done so far, including the fish census.

We need more signatures and a bigger plan to achieve our goal - to protect The Crystal and extend Jawbone Marine Sanctuary.
