Protect the Community From Severe and Repeat offenders of Domestic and Sexual Violence

Protect the Community From Severe and Repeat offenders of Domestic and Sexual Violence
The issue
Did you know that when the Australian Government told us they were committed to ending Domestic Violence, that behind all campaigns they also brought in laws that give offenders a get out of jail free card?
We were told that the police, services and courts would be undertaking significant change to end domestic violence. The campaign has been widespread.
What they didn’t want us to know was on the 27th March 2021 they underhandedly gave all perpetrators no matter the severity, no matter the history, a golden ticket to abuse a system designed to protect the most vulnerable.
The worst offenders can now worse than ever abuse Mental Health loopholes to evade justice, consequences and most alarmingly use this legislation to result in no record! Even when the crimes are proven! Now while this particular “section” loophole is imperative for those who are living with disabilities, it is absolutely unacceptable to be available to high risk and repeat offenders.
so while we fight to end violence at home, while the services and enormous efforts by police to protect the community, while the Government floods our media with promises that Domestic Violence is no longer acceptable in our society, the legislation Proves otherwise. Perpetrators can now expect support to enable them to continue their violence over and over again.
As a community everyone needs to be aware that offenders can abuse the justice system even easier than before and the Taxpayers are burdened with this legislation.
Don’t be fooled by the “End Domestic Violence Campaign” it’s designed to give offenders an easy way out!
let’s join together and demand the government to be accountable for their promise to end Violence at Home. Accountability that ensures the community is protected and all victims are afforded the right to not only protection, intervention and prevention but JUSTICE as well.
Mental Health is never an excuse to Rape, or Torture anyone. It’s time to call for Mandatory sentencing for “Severe and Repeated “ offenders of Domestic and Sexual Violence.
Have Your Say and Sign if you believe that “Severe and Repeated” Domestic and Sexual Violence Offenders Should Face Mandatory Sentencing and the removal of legislation that allows for the worst offenders to abuse disability or mental health defences.
