We just wanted to let you know that the St Leonards petition has now reached over 1300 signatures, which is amazing, so thank you all. This far exceeds our expectations. But it goes to show how many people, those that live, work and visit value our beautiful little coastal village as it is. The battle is not over yet, so if you know anyone who would be interested please forward the petition link to them.
The Standing Advisory Committee have listened to all submissions, and will now make recommendations to the Planning Minister, Richard Wynne, regarding our township boundaries. We are not sure when he will make a decision.
By signing the petition you have helped us let government and the public know about the communities concerns about further urban sprawl and the loss of valuable farming land, our wide open vistas, habitat for our wildlife, birds and animals and of course amenity. Over 10,500 people have signed petitions across the Bellarine.
