Protect St Leonards - New Planning Minister appointed.

Hello all,

Recently the Victorian government appointed a new Planning Minister in place of Richard Wynne.   Her name is Lizzie Blandthorn.  We have updated the petition contacts to reflect this change so Lizzie will be aware of the petition and that we now have over 1390 signatures.  With the Ocean Grove and  Barwon Heads petitions we have in excess of 10,800 signatures across the Bellarine,  so thank you everyone.  This is not an insignificant number of people especially if even a portion of this is representative of how people may vote in the upcoming election.

The Selection Advisory Committee have finished the hearings and now have until 3 August to present their report to her.   Now is the time to let Lizzie know that the community want to keep our township boundaries as per the Draft Statement of Planning Policy.  If you have a moment to spare please write an email to her.  Her email address is: Lizzie.blandthorn@parliament.vic.gov.au.  

We have some emails already prepared on our website ‘Protect the Bellarine.com.au’ or write your own.  They don’t have to be long, but now is the time to let her know to, Protect the Bellarine from further urban sprawl, to protect our open space between towns and villages, protect out prime agricultural land, protect our wildlife and protect access to nature and our liveability and amenity.
