Our community relies on an artesian well, which is a safe, clean source of drinking water for many of us. Throughout the upcoming construction project on highway 421, we request protections be put in place for this well, as it is an irreplaceable resource. Artesian wells, being naturally filtered, provide some of the purest water available. In fact, according to the Groundwater Foundation, water from artesian wells is usually cleaner and tastes better than water from regular rainwater wells. However, such a vital resource is under threat due to the upcoming construction works. We, therefore, demand that the authorities, project overseers, and construction companies ensure the safeguarding of the well and the water source itself not only during, but also for future projects.
