Thank you everyone so much for your support! We won! I wanted to wait closer to the September 16th hearing to see if there was a further update; however, I haven't received one other the press release. On September 2nd, the city of Demorest elected not to pursue the property via eminent domain. I am overwhelmed about how the community came together from all different kinds of people. Private property rights activists, environmentalists, long time residents, new residents, everyone came together to stop this project. That unity mattered, and it changed the outcome. I cannot express my gratitude enough to everyone that signed the petition, talked about it, shared it, prayed on it, yelled it from a mountain top, all of it. I plan on leaving the petition open until after September 16th as we continue to gain signatures, in case we have to fight this battle again. Thank you!!!
