The Issue

"Don’t take the hills out of Southern Highlands!"

A developer has proposed a FORTY house neighborhood on 5 acres of land that is only zoned for 18 houses just north of Star Hills Dr.

The developer is motivated for maximum profit at the expense of the existing natural landscape and community members. They have applied for TWELVE waivers to current laws and regulations around the land which will cause lasting damage from excavating the beautiful hillside, and poses a huge impact on our local community with daily noise  disturbances, dust pollution, significant traffic delays, potential flooding and safety concerns.

Bulldozers, hydraulic hammers, and dump trucks would be permitted to pummel over the existing natural landscape, causing permanent destruction to the landscape and JUST FEET AWAY FROM EXISTING HOMES, AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, and a PARK

Structural damage to existing neighboring homes is likely due to the drilling, resource extraction, and heavy machinery that would be here for YEARS to come

TELL THE COUNTY COMMISSION &  OUR LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES:

Laws and zoning regulations are created for a reason! DO NOT allow ANY waivers to be approved, much less twelve of them!

NO USE of public land should be used for private developer profit!

The health and safety of our community members MATTERS and a gravel pit puts us all at risk!

We demand independent evaluations of how the development will affect flooding, traffic, and risks for property damage to existing homes

If you can do even more please help by:
