Protect Skyline Rd: Keep Commercial Traffic Off Our Residential Street

The Issue

Skyline Rd in Caldwell County is a quiet residential street where families live, walk, and raise children. As growth continues along Highway 21, we support responsible development—but not at the expense of neighborhood safety.

There are plans to build an AutoZone at the intersection of Highway 21 and Skyline Rd, including a proposed entrance from Skyline Rd. This would bring increased cut-through traffic, higher speeds, and safety risks into a residential area not designed for commercial use.

Skyline Rd should not become a shortcut for highway traffic. Increased congestion and non-resident vehicles would negatively impact the safety and quality of life for those who live here.

There are alternative access options from Highway 21 that would allow the business to operate without directing traffic into our neighborhood.

We, the undersigned, call on the Caldwell County Commissioners Court and the Texas Department of Transportation to deny any plans that include access from Skyline Rd to this development.
