Michigan Representative Josh Schriver has introduced a dangerous resolution urging the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges — the landmark 2015 ruling that guarantees marriage equality nationwide.

This is a serious threat. In 2004, Michigan amended the constitution to ban same-sex marriage. If Obergefell is overturned, that ban would once again become enforceable — stripping thousands of Michiganders of the right to marry who they love.

We must act now.

We are calling on Michigan lawmakers and fellow citizens to protect marriage equality by rewriting the state constitution. This can happen in one of two ways:
1. Through House Joint Resolution F, which would initiate the amendment process in the legislature
2. Through a citizen-led ballot initiative, which could bring marriage equality to the 2026 ballot
