I am a concerned resident of Sabah who is witnessing an alarming increase in crimes such as murder, drug trafficking, and theft. Many of these criminal activities are reportedly linked to individuals who hold IMM13 permits and those who lack valid documentation or carry identity cards wrongly registered under the National Registration Department (NRD) through the infamous IC Project.

This situation is perilous not only for the safety and harmony of local communities but also for our national sovereignty. As a citizen deeply involved in ensuring the security of Sabah, I see firsthand how vulnerable our communities have become. Despite authorities' efforts, the misuse of legal documents remains a critical issue that needs urgent addressing.

Sabah has become a refuge for individuals misusing official documents, compromising the safety of original residents and undermining trust in essential governmental processes. The IMM13 document, initially meant for refugees, and other wrongly issued identity cards have become shields for unlawful activities, putting the law-abiding residents of Sabah at great risk.

In light of this, I urge the relevant authorities to strengthen verification processes for all IMM13 holders and other undocumented individuals. It's essential to crack down on fraudulent activities in issuing identity documents and ensure all residents’ backgrounds are thoroughly checked before granting any official status. We need policies that actively protect the true citizens of Sabah and uphold the integrity of our national identification system.
