The Issue

Senate Bill 1237 (SB1237) may seem like a simple change in legal wording, but it could have major consequences for remote workers across Arizona. By redefining what qualifies as a state “Agency”, this bill could be used to eliminate flexible work arrangements for university employees, state workers, and others who depend on remote or hybrid schedules.

Here’s why we must oppose SB1237:

Protect Work-Life Balance: Remote work allows employees to be productive while balancing personal and family needs.

Keep Arizona Competitive: Many states and private companies support remote work. We can’t afford to fall behind by forcing employees back into offices unnecessarily.

Save Taxpayer Money: Remote work cuts down on office expenses and reduces transportation costs for employees and the state.

Retain & Attract Talent: Ending remote work could push skilled employees to leave Arizona’s public sector for jobs that still offer flexibility.

SB1237 is a stealth attack on remote work, and we must take action NOW before it’s too late.

Sign this petition today to send a clear message to Arizona legislators: Vote NO on SB1237 and protect remote work for Arizona public employees!
