Protect Quail Orchard Park: Demand Arrests for Arson and Increased Security

The Issue

Another fire. Another playground in ruins. And once again, it’s the children who suffer most.

Early Thursday morning, arsonists set fire to Quail Orchard Park—just weeks after a similar attack. This is the third major act of vandalism at the park since it opened last fall. Over $120,000 in damage was done overnight, and the city says it simply doesn’t have the funds to keep repairing what others destroy.

This was a place where kids came to play. Now, it’s charred and melted. And unless we act now, it will keep happening.

We’re calling on Provo City Council and Mayor Michelle Kaufusi to immediately invest in 24/7 security cameras, increased patrols, and community watch efforts at our parks.

This isn't just about Quail Orchard—it’s about protecting every child’s right to safe, clean, and joyful public spaces. Taxpayers shouldn’t keep footing the bill for preventable damage. Provo’s parks should be places of pride, not constant repair.

Sign now to urge city leaders to protect our parks, our resources, and our kids—before the next fire.
