Protect Prathamesh Shinde

Protect Prathamesh Shinde
The Issue
Prathamesh Shinde shared a video of a Hamas terrorist group leader’s son speaking his mind on Islam and its founder.
Since then, this innocent Hindu has been victimized by Islamists, the police, and his university.
- Islamists have doxxed Prathamesh, and are threatening to behead him. Such threats must be taken seriously because they are not without precedent.
- Rather than protect Prathamesh from the homicidal radicals who are threatening his life, local police have issued a warrant for his arrest.
- Rather than protect Prathamesh's right to speak freely in a higher education setting, his university -- the National Institute of Technology -- has suspended him for one year.
This is unacceptable in a democratic and supposedly secular society. Innocent civilians should not be punished by governments and universities for sharing information and expressing opinions about the existential threat of radical Islam.
Since 1979, there have been more than 48,000 Islamic terror attacks worldwide. Such radicalism poses an existential civilizational threat to all free societies and to all peaceful people around the world.
It is imperative that:
- All legal charges against Prathamesh Shinde be dropped by Srinagar police
- The NIT reinstate Prathamesh Shinde immediately
- Local and national governments investigate the threats leveled by bad actors against Prathamesh Shinde. They must make it explicitly clear that radical Islamism will not be tolerated and that such threats will be nipped in the bud before they manifest in actual violence.
