Protect Possum Park, Pete!

Protect Possum Park, Pete!
The issue
The Premier, Peter Malinauskas, has a vision: that your Park Lands must be profit centres, and that therefore Open, Green, Public land (as well as trees and biodiversity) must be subservient, or sacrificed to money-making imperatives, such as professional golf.
Although his plans for the North Adelaide golf courses, on Possum Park / Pirltawardli (Park 1 of your Adelaide Park Lands) are "commercial-in-confidence" it's clear that the Premier's plans would lead to:
- (on the Government's own figures) 585 trees being destroyed to make longer, wider fairways;
- new buildings to generate multi-million dollar revenue streams; and
- months of fencing and grandstand construction disrupting North Adelaide each year.
Citizen scientists have (so far) found more than 120 species on or around the North Adelaide golf courses in Possum Park/ Pirltawardli (Park 1).
Much of this biodiversity would be threatened by likely construction of commercial offices, meeting rooms, restaurants, function spaces and bars operating seven days per week.
Now it's the Australian Open, (maybe instead of LIV golf) but either way, it doesn't matter to the trees, or the wildlife. Professional golf can LIV elsewhere - not be used as an excuse to PILLAGE POSSUM PARK!
