Dear Park Lands Lovers,
Thank you for being part of one of the biggest movements in SA history. We have collected over 51,000 signatures for an online petition to Protect Possum Park, and on Wednesday presented a paper petition to parliament with 43,700 valid signatures. The petition was initiated by Adelaide City Councillors Kieran Snape and Patrick Maher.
That petition will force parliament to conduct an inquiry into the Government's plans for your Park Lands as required by Section 16B of the Parliamentary Committees Act 1991
However the Government is still refusing to listen. They are planning more events and are proposing permanent grandstands for Victoria Park.
But we are determined to Stop the Chop!
Be a part of history this Sunday and join thousands of other South Australians in Victoria Square to hear speeches from a range of community and political leaders.
Those who can will then march to Victoria Park, the site of the proposed MotoGP and the next round of tree-felling. If you can't march you are welcome to wait in Victoria Park in the Olive Grove at the Corner of Wakefield Road and Park Terrace where a sausage sizzle and bake sale will take place.
The marchers will arrive by 2pm.
Bring your banners and your yellow ribbons!
