Protect Pleasure & Privacy for Legal Adults in North Carolina

The Issue

As an adult performer, I've dedicated my career to providing a safe and consensual space for adults to shamelessly explore their fantasies online. Through the internet, I've assisted countless individuals in fearlessly embracing their desires without jeopardizing their real-life relationships. The potential impact of the PAVE Act on privacy and freedom of expression could result in more harm than benefit.

The Act mandates legal adults in North Carolina to regularly undergo privacy-invading measures, such as scanning their IDs, each time they access online adult content. This not only violates our right to privacy but also poses the risk of steering individuals towards unsafe alternatives.

The impact of the PAVE Act extends beyond just performers like me; it affects every legal adult who values their privacy and freedom of expression. Once this law takes effect on January 1, 2024, it threatens the confidentiality and online anonymity of all North Carolina adult content viewers. Restricting access to legal and consensual adult content has the potential to drive individuals towards darker, unsafe, and unregulated avenues. There is a pressing need for parameters that maintain privacy with lesser intrusion.

In addition, I strongly advocate for a comprehensive upgrade of our sexual education system across the state. By empowering teachers and parents to confidently respond to students' questions without shame or awkwardness, we acknowledge that sex is a natural human instinct. It's essential to accept that adult content, whether legal or illegal, exists on the internet, and we cannot alter this reality. However, we have the power to shape how our children perceive it by enriching their knowledge. Teaching children to differentiate between fantasy and reality across various media, including adult content, movies, music, video games, and social platforms, is crucial. My goal is to  prioritize education and empowerment over limiting the rights of legal adults.
