Getting in and out of Park Gate quickly is essential not only in case of emergency, but also on a daily basis when you are going to work, driving your child to school or running errands. The convenience and safety of our community depend significantly on the ability to have smooth and quick access to Park Avenue and Stephenville Parkway. However, the proposed establishment of a House of Religious Worship on the site of the former Horiba building (3880 Park Avenue) is threatening this crucial aspect of our community.

The site is located right at the entrance to Park Gate, a location already burdened by congestion at the traffic light on Park Avenue. Adding a religious establishment, which naturally attracts a large number of people during religious events will exacerbate the situation. This could hinder emergency services from accessing our community promptly, putting lives at risk.

Moreover, the intersection of Park Avenue and Stephenville Parkway is not designed to accommodate such a large influx of people and vehicles regularly, making our everyday errands cumbersome and time-consuming. Imagine all the vehicles exiting the House of Worship at the same time trying to make a left turn onto Park Avenue through our traffic light, which is designed for three vehicles maximum exiting Park Gate!

This petition calls for the Edison Township Zoning Board to deny the approval of the zoning variance needed for this project.
