This is a frightening figure when you realise how vital these gentle giants are to our ecosystems. Whales play a crucial role in balancing marine environments and even contribute to reducing atmospheric CO2 levels (World Wildlife Fund). But they can't continue this important work if we don't protect them. Let us unite to save our whales and urge governing bodies across the globe to endorse stricter protection policies and sustainable practices.
