Save Our Water: Stop Leather Industry Pollution!
Water is life. But what happens when our rivers and lakes are poisoned?

Hi, I’m Aisha Kaul, and my classmates and I have been researching water pollution. Our findings have led us to a harsh reality—the leather industry is silently destroying our water sources.

The process of tanning leather relies on toxic chemicals like chromium and arsenic, which can seep into rivers and lakes if wastewater isn’t treated properly. These chemicals make the water unsafe for fish, plants, and even people who rely on these sources. Imagine an entire ecosystem collapsing just because factories didn’t dispose of their waste responsibly.

But the problem doesn’t stop there. Tanneries also generate huge amounts of animal waste. If not handled correctly, it ends up in our water, sucking away oxygen and suffocating aquatic life. Entire species could disappear because of this reckless pollution.
