Over the last few weeks in Bedford, there has been an unacceptable amount of deaths among our Swans, Geese etc. Avian bird flu maybe the cause, but we were recently also alerted to oil spillage in the river Ouse locally. 

These birds are dying daily. Everyday someone is sadly reporting another death or dying bird, this is terribly distressing for the public to see, and no animal should have a possibly slow painful death.

DEFRA, RSPCA, RSPB and BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL.. seem to be doing very little. DEFRA will not test birds or water unless 5 deaths are reported (we are way in excess of that) Collection of dead birds via the Council is outrageous, birds are being left days in the water. RSPCA/RSPB arrive to late and will NOT deal with any dead animal!

Please help by signing this and bringing it to the attention of those who can help with this dreadful situation,  which is very quickly wiping our wild birds out. We need to be heard!! Every signature is a step forward and a sign of support in caring for these innocent creatures. Thank you.
