PA House Bill 526 and Senate Bill 34

This bill being introduced into legislation will take away parents Freedom of choice. This bill will ultimately be the end to Cyber Charter schools in PA. Currently in PA we have the freedom to choose what education system suits the needs best for our children. The district you live in has to pay the tuition to these schools, but if you all know we pay taxes to the district we reside in, regardless of where our children attend school. So we parents are in fact still paying our tuition because we pay taxes to a school district our children do not attend.

While the supportive side is highly focused on finances of the brick and mortar schools, lets show them our children are not a paycheck. Their well being and best interest should be the most important issue.

I can attest from personal experience that to choose a Cyber Charter school has been a blessing for my children. When they attended the district we live in they were failing and felt bullied by students and teachers alike, I was unable to do anything to help them.With Cyber Charter I am front and center, able to ensure all their needs are met and  over all well being is number 1 priority.

Cyber Charter also provides all materials needed, and even offer internet reimbursement. They provide up to date technology equipment, all materials for school projects,  fun school trips where parents are encourage and required to attend and amazing PTO.Teachers who are on call 24/7 for our children. Safe, secure and fun learning environments. A learning pace that fits your child. Focus on the individual and not the test. Zero bullying! Cyber schools are a family system and promotes family involvement. Not one of these things can a brick and mortar school offer.

I ask that all parents in this state sign this petition and get this bill that takes away freedom, taken off the House Floor. Keep our freedom of choice! Protect our children's rights.

The newest of these threats to our children's future is by Governor Wolf. He plans to use executive orders to pass his reform package. We need to let him know that this is an unacceptable misuse of power and is extremely detrimental to our children's well being and futures.The full details of his bills he plans to introduce are not yet given nor a bill number for them.
