Protect Aaron Cove

The issue

This petition is to express concern about the infestation of Brown Snakes and Redbelly Black Snakes in our street. This is due to a vacant lot of land situated behind Aaron Cove on what was previously the Anambah Landfill Site. As a resident of the Rutherford area, I have noticed a significant increase in the number of snakes in our street, front lawn and backyard.

The presence of these snakes is not only a nuisance but also poses a serious threat to the safety of our neighbourhood. We fear for the safety of our children and pets, as they could be at risk of being bitten. The infestation has also made it impossible for us to enjoy our outdoor activities and has caused a significant decline in our quality of life.

We believe that the council should take immediate action in addressing this problem. This should include regular maintenance of the land such as mowing, whipper snipping, poisoning and slashing. The council should conduct regular inspections of the area to ensure the community's safety.

We urge the council to take this matter seriously and take swift action to address the influx of snakes in our neighbourhood. Your prompt attention to this issue is greatly appreciated, so please sign this petition so we can send it to our local government to resolve this issue.
