Dear Mr. Pasha,

I am writing to submit a public comment regarding applications RHOPA-25-018 and ZAC-25-035.

I am opposed to the proposed zoning exception that would permit recreational development on lands currently zoned A1 and designated as prime agricultural land within the Greenbelt. These lands are intended to be protected for agriculture, ecological function, and long-term environmental sustainability.

Beyond the loss of protected farmland, this proposal raises concerns about broader impacts on the surrounding community and environment, including habitat disruption, increased land-use pressure, and the erosion of agricultural viability in the area. Granting an exception in this case risks setting a precedent that undermines the intent of Greenbelt protections and exposes similar lands across Hamilton to future development pressure.

I urge the Planning Division to reject this application and to uphold the purpose of A1 zoning and Greenbelt designation by prioritizing environmental protection, food security, and community well-being.
