It is now Florida law that FHSAA member schools must have cooling zones with available cold water immersion, unlimited hydration, heat stress procedures and emergency action plans that will save a student's life if they suffer Exertional Heat Stroke. They must also have training for employees and volunteers on exertional heat illnesses and sudden cardiac arrest. Minutes matter in both of these cases and the response from the people who are on site can mean the difference between life and death. Now the students in Florida have some basic protection in place year-round that they haven't had before! Your support, encouragement, and involvement in this petition has made a difference!
