IMPORTANT UPDATE

First, we went to thank  all those who have signed and supported this very important petition. Burr Ridge is close to becoming the home of a giant box retailer unless we band together and speak up and this petition was the important first step. On October 13 a couple of us sat down with Mayor to discuss the formation of an AD HOC committee. During this meeting the agreement was as follows

7-12 people with backgrounds in real estate, law, development, zoning , any background that could help come up with ideas for the redevelopment of over 100+ acres that soon will become available for redevelopment and REZONING at CNH site. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THIS IS NOT ZONED FOR RETAIL/ commercial. It MUST BE REZONED. 

The Mayor announced the meeting officially October 23 at the village meeting. At this meeting he also asked if any trustees would like to join which Guy Franzese excitedly exclaimed he would join. At the time we felt we were ok with having 1-2 village voices after all we had 11 people  already committed to this AD HOC Committee . I always feel adversity strengthens outcomes so we were prepared to work with Guy and Gary Grasso. Unfortunately the weeks following Mayor Grasso continued to reduce my list. He appointed people to our 11 person committee and removed my original people and he added 2 more village trustees  in total Mayor Grasso added 3 Trustees and 1 Plan Commissioner. At this point we feel this committee is no longer representing the people of burr ridge as 25% have been removed and replaced with trustees. We feel a village trustee is always politically driven and not the “voice” of BURR RIDGE.  We feel disappointed in the villages behavior but truly more invigorate to continue to fight this very sneaky and deceitful behavior that has been happening within the village
