Protect our Children in Edison, NJ Schools
Protect our Children in Edison, NJ Schools
Dear Educationists and State and County Leaders,
Re: Education at the cost of health is not the correct mental model.
We, the parents of children studying in Edison Township Schools (NJ) request closing down schools and transitioning to online education/classes to protect our children from the ongoing spread of the Coronavirus (COVID 19) disease.
As we all know, the COVID 19 virus is spreading rapidly in our country. Prevention, self-containment, and intense precaution are the only real cures at this time. Given that there are no vaccines or any other treatment available at this time to take care of those infected, please let us all be proactive in stopping the spread of the virus. We request you as guardians of our community, and our children to please not wait until the situation worsens. Trying to contain the virus after it has spread is virtually impossible as we see from cases in various parts of the world.
We request that you stop in person schooling and move to a virtual schooling model as is being adopted by states such as Washington. It is not only our duty but is also our obligation to take preventive measures to protect our children.
We understand and appreciate the fact that transitioning to online education will not be easy and will require us to collaborate with each other under these unfortunate circumstances.
We would like to thank all the members of our state governing body, the state education department, the board members of the school district, teachers, and staff in our schools for their understanding and ongoing and valuable contribution towards shaping our children's career.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Concerned Petitioners
