Protect Our Children: Demand Accountability at Forestbrook Middle School
As parents, we send our children to school expecting them to be safe, supported, and treated with dignity. But at Forestbrook Middle School, that promise is being broken and our children are the ones suffering.
Many families, including mine, have witnessed a deeply troubling pattern: children, especially those with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and 504 plans are being mistreated, ignored, and in some cases, outright bullied by members of the school’s administration. This isn’t just unacceptable, it’s heartbreaking.
This isn’t an isolated incident or a one-time mistake. Multiple parents have come forward, sharing stories of intimidation, neglect, and emotional harm. Students with learning differences, disabilities, and mental health needs are especially at risk. These are children who already face significant challenges. Instead of receiving support, they’re being made to feel like burdens.
But it doesn’t stop there. The toxic environment affects all students. When school leadership fails to foster a culture of inclusion and compassion, every child suffers. Children are watching how their peers are treated, and it shapes how they view themselves, others, and the world around them.
According to the National Center for Learning Disabilities, students with IEPs are significantly more likely to experience bullying and exclusion (Moreno & Lillenstein, 2020). When the harm comes from the very adults entrusted to protect and guide them, the damage runs even deeper.
We are calling for urgent change. We demand that higher authorities launch a full investigation into the actions of Forestbrook Middle School’s administration. Those found to have bullied or mistreated students must face real consequences. Additionally, we ask for immediate implementation of staff training focused on inclusion, empathy, and appropriate support for all students—especially those with additional needs.
By signing this petition, you stand with the children of Forestbrook; your children, your neighbors’ children, and every child who deserves a safe, nurturing place to learn. Together, we can create a future where no child is left behind, mistreated, or silenced.
Please sign and share. Let’s be the voice for the children who are afraid to speak.
