Thank you for signing our petition to oppose the Town of Brookline’s proposal to assign the Right of First Refusal to Victory Programs, which intends to establish a transitional housingfor drug rehabilitation in our neighborhood. We are not asking for money…what is needed is your voice!
We are writing to ask for your critical (non-financial) support in person at the upcoming Brookline town Meeting Thursday, August 19th Your presence will help send a strong message that our community deserves to have its voice and concerns heard.
This proposed facility poses significant risks to a neighborhood primarily composed of seniors and schoolchildren. The safety, well-being, and character of our community must remain a top priority.
We strongly support the alternative proposal to develop the site as workforce housing, including units for health-care workers and school aides. This plan better aligns with Brookline’s long-term goals and directly serves pressing community needs. And if this is not feasible the Town should walk away and let a developer utilize the property.
Here’s how you can help:
Attend the Town Meeting August 19th (time TBD—stay tuned for updates).
Invite neighbors and friends who care about the future of our community.
Speak up or simply stand in support—numbers do matter.
We cannot let this decision go forward without making our voices heard. Your presence could make all the difference.
With gratitude,
Your neighbors in Precincts 8, 9, 10, 11
