Ngāti Ngamurikaitaua: We Are Still Here, and the Mahi Continues
Tēnā tātou e te whānau,
Firstly, ngā mihi nui to everyone who has signed, shared, supported, and followed this petition.
We are still here. We haven't given up.
A lot has happened since this petition began. Most recently, we travelled to Waitangi for a resource management hui and took our Kaitaua Accountability Framework with us, extending our kaupapa into conversations beyond our rohe.
Since returning, we have continued taking formal steps concerning the proposed wastewater development and the wider issues we have been raising around consultation, transparency, cultural representation, confidentiality, and protection of our research and intellectual property.
Formal notices have been issued to Hamilton City Council's Chief Executive, IAWAI, and McCaw Lewis, followed by LGOIMA requests to Hamilton City Council, Waikato District Council, Waipā District Council, and IAWAI.
So although things may sometimes appear quiet from the outside, the mahi has not stopped.
Our parliamentary petition is also continuing, and every signature helps demonstrate that people want these concerns heard.
