Tena taatou, kia ora ano, whanau, hapu, friends, and all of our supporters.
We’re finally happy to let you know that our parliamentary petition was accepted and approved last night. We had our doubts at first because of the number of parties involved in misleading the public about Nukuhau pa and our identity, but because not only are we the living proof of our ancestry and taonga tuku iho, we have the facts and evidence to prove that we are who we say we are. How did we get the petition accepted and approved? It was evidence. Before you have any petition approved, you need to present evidence.
Below are the things we needed to present to the Select Committee, the Office of Clerks, and the House of Representatives.
- Nukuhau Paa being Ngati Ngamurikaitaua.
- Ngati Ngamurikaitaua and Nukuhau Paa ancestral knowledge.
- Approval from our Blueprint to view our hard work and Mana whenua organization, "Protect Nukuhau".
Below is the evidence we sent to the Select Committee, Office of Clerks, and House representatives.
Please find attached the supporting document from Protect Nukuhau also images from June 17th, 2022, for the unveiling of the Te Inuwai Park signboard korero also about Nukuhau Paa by Ngati Ngamurikaitaua, displayed by the Protect Nukuhau Facebook social media platform.
