The Issue

I am deeply pained by the Supreme Court’s decision to relocate stray dogs, as I truly love them from the bottom of my heart. I, along with my friends and neighbours, provide the strays in our area with food, medication, bedding, and shelter—without ever asking the government for help. We only request one thing: please do not relocate these dogs. If moved, they will die. They already face many hardships, and relocation will only increase their suffering.

Our street dogs are an integral part of the Noida community, faithfully guarding our lanes, joyfully greeting us each day, and asking for nothing in return but food and kindness. These humble creatures endure the rigours of street life, forming a crucial protective layer and simultaneously filling our lives with unyielding affection.

Recent orders demanding the forced relocation of these animals are tragic and misguided. Forcibly removing the dogs from their familiar environment exposes them to the risk of starvation, anxiety, and social dislocation. Many will struggle to survive in unfamiliar territories, far from the goodwill of those who cherish and protect them.

Instead of relocating, we must advocate for humane, effective solutions—support sterilization and vaccination programs, promote public education about peaceful coexistence, and implement measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both the dogs and the community.

By signing this petition, you are standing for compassion, encouraging local authorities to prioritize more humane strategies that protect our voiceless, loyal companions. Let's urge the leaders in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, to reverse the relocation decision and adopt sustainable and caring approaches toward street dogs. Sign and share this petition to safeguard these precious lives and maintain their rightful place within our community.
