It has now been just over a year since my petition reached Parliament, but the reason behind it hasn't disappeared.
I started this because I wanted greater understanding of neurodiversity and more genuinely inclusive community spaces — places where different ways of thinking, communicating and processing aren't simply accommodated as an afterthought.
A year later, I still believe that matters.
Accessibility can mean physical access, but it can also mean:
💛 clearer communication
💙 enough time to process information
💚 understanding sensory needs
💜 fewer unnecessary barriers
🧡 recognising that somebody may communicate or respond differently
❤️ listening to lived experience rather than assuming what somebody needs
One thing my own experiences keep teaching me is that inclusion isn't simply telling somebody how to cope better with an inaccessible situation.
Sometimes the situation needs to change too.

Getting a petition to Parliament was a milestone.
Creating greater understanding is the bigger journey.
