Parliament has been debating the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill, and for once there’s some promising news for community spaces.

MPs discussed how important community hubs and meeting places are, and the Minister confirmed they want to strengthen things like the Asset of Community Value rules — which help communities protect spaces when they’re at risk.

It’s not a fix for what already happened, but it does show our petition is part of a much bigger national conversation. We’ve helped highlight why these places matter, and we’ll keep pushing for stronger protection and local support in the future.
