Over the last few days, a new development has appeared in Parliament’s schedule — the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill is now moving into its Report Stage, with more amendments still being added.
Although this isn’t the exact bill my petition comes under, it does show that decisions about communities, local spaces, and the future of public environments are happening right now. When big bills move forward, it opens the door for conversations about how communities are protected — or overlooked.
That’s why my petition still matters.
My goal has always been simple:
Community spaces should not disappear quietly. They should be protected, understood, and valued — especially for the people who rely on them the most.
This new development reminds us that:
Change can happen suddenly
Decisions can move quickly
And community voices need to be there before things are finalised
Thank you again to everyone who has signed, shared, and supported this journey.
It’s been 8 months, and the momentum is still going.
I’ll update again as soon as I know more.
