Aurora Trident hyper scale data center update **We need YOU at Aurora City Council 10/12 **
Mayor Coffman has publicly said Trident must be stopped and that the city must explore every available option to keep it from being built, even with the risk of a lawsuit. This shift happened because YOU showed up and spoke up. Now we need the City Council to stand with the mayor.
Vantage has come out and said this project should be "evaluated based on verified facts." Agreed. Every fact in this post comes from the city or published reporting, and we are asking council to require independent review of water, air, and noise impacts before any approval.
Aurora City Council meets Monday, October 12th at 6pm at the Aurora Municipal Center. We need you to show up please and come and speak up for Trident and for the other data centers being proposed near these neighborhoods, schools, and homes.
To speak, you must sign up in advance. Sign-up opened Friday 10/9 and closes at 1pm on Monday oct. 12th, the day of the meeting. Non-Aurora residents CAN speak too, though Aurora residents are called first. You can also sign up to speak at 5pm at the municipal building. These large scaled centers being proposed in this area would not only affect Aurora residents! Below are links to sign up to speak. We need you to participate.
What to ask council:
Join the mayor and "Call Up" meaning bring Trident to a public council vote and oppose Trident, and ask that they use every available option to stop it.
Create a moratorium to give the city time to pass regulations: a larger buffer measured to the nearest homes, strong water protections, and public hearings for projects of this size. Regulations should be written alongside independent health and environmental experts and community members.
Do not approve any projects like this before protections are in place.
This is not anti-technology. It is about not rushing these projects in with no safeguards for our community and City.
If you cannot attend, please email citycouncil@auroragov.org.
Please share this with your neighbors.
