UPDATE - The Mayor is with us against Data Center Trident! NOW WE NEED CITY COUNCIL
Mayor Coffman publicly said the Trident data center has to be stopped 10/2. He told CBS Colorado that neighbors were blindsided and that the current rules are outdated. He said he will "call Trident up for a public hearing and ask council to vote NO." That's what so many of us asked for on Monday during city council meeting.
BUT he cannot stop it alone. Council votes, and the city attorney is warning about lawsuits, so some members may get cold feet. They need to hear from YOU this week.
Please email council. Ask them to:
1."Call up"Trident for a public hearing and vote no.
2. Ask to pause new data center applications until real regulations are written with experts in health, air quality, noise and water.
3. Ask to rezone industrial land that's right next to neighborhoods so this never happens again.
