Thank you for supporting this U.S. Civil Rights Complaint and Petition to Protect NAACP Members from Unfair Suspensions!
In order to take our action a step further, I, Rev. Curtis E. Gatewood, the author of this petition, hereby request that you reply to this email immediately at gatewoodlovesjustice@gmail.com.
The reply reaffirms all who are listed as signees actually authorized their support toward the said petition and are fully aware of its content. Secondly, please state your name, address, and phone number while indicating which of the following categories best describe your current status:
Category A:
I was an NAACP member, but I was suspended by the National NAACP (give date of suspension and branch, chapter, or unit) and feel my constitutional rights to fair and impartial due process were violated.
Category B:
I am a current NAACP member who has not been suspended but supports the content of this petition and the need to ensure all NAACP members receive fair and impartial due process prior to any suspensions or other punishment.
Category C:
I am not a current NAACP member but I support the content of the petition and the need to ensure all NAACP members receive fair and impartial due process prior to any suspensions or other punishment.
Lastly, you should be aware that since the petition was initiated, I have become part of a core group that meets regularly via zoom. The independent group consists of others who were suspended by the National NAACP in addition to legal experts and/or those who are knowledgeable regarding constitutionality and civil rights. If you were suspended by the National NAACP, you are encouraged to become part of the aforementioned “core group.”
Meanwhile, please continue sharing the petition and urging others to sign and tell us if there are other ways you would like to assist further while indicating your area of expertise (i.e., legal expert, faith outreach, youth outreach, community organizer, communications, media outreach, social media outreach, fundraising, other).
Your support is appreciated, honored, timely, and given the utmost thanks!
In pursuit of justice always,
Rev. Curtis E. Gatewood
