📣 Public pressure is growing — please keep sharing, printing, and showing up 🪧

Because of all your hard work, this is no longer a quiet administrative process. Parents, staff, students, and community members are showing up and making clear that school closures cannot move forward without transparency, real alternatives, and a full understanding of the impact on families and neighborhoods.
Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, spoken, attended meetings, made flyers, contacted neighbors, and kept this issue visible.
At Tuesday’s MUSD meeting, public comment again made the stakes clear. (Video)
One speaker described the current process as a “magician’s choice” — an illusion of options where every path seems to lead toward the same predetermined outcome. Another reminded the board that our schools are not just buildings or budget lines, but “anchors of community knowledge and continuity.” Parents and staff spoke about transportation, special education, class sizes, teacher retention, student stability, and the harm caused when decisions are rushed before the full facts are public.
Z107.7 also reported on the continued public backlash at Tuesday’s meeting, including concerns about pressure on the Enrollment Committee, lack of transparency, and impacts on students and staff.

As we head toward next week’s Enrollment Committee meeting, this is the time to widen the circle.
Please help by doing any of the following:
- Share the website with another parent, staff member, neighbor, alumni, or local business.
- Ask one more person to sign the petition.
- Print and distribute the flyer from the website.
- Attend the rally and upcoming meetings if you are able.
- Keep asking for real numbers, real alternatives, and a transparent process.
Our message remains simple:
No closure without transparency.
No closure without real alternatives.
No closure before stabilization.
School closures are not just budget decisions. They reshape communities, transportation, staffing, student stability, and public trust for years.
Thank you for standing up for Morongo Basin schools. Every signature, every public comment, every flyer, every conversation, and every person who shows up matters. ✊
