Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) have produced a 'Local Plan' which identifies areas of green belt land to be re-designated as 'Built-Up Area' or 'land formerly in the Green Belt' This now allows this land to be sold off to developers and to be lost forever as part of our natural world.

A press release issued by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities on 5th December 2022 has stated quite clearly that

"Green Belt protections will be strengthened, with new guidance setting out that local authorities are not required to review Green Belt to deliver homes.

The government will ensure valued landscapes, such as National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Green Belt, remain protected through robust national and local planning policies."

We require that Mole Valley District Council withdraw their Local Plan, remove the areas of valuable, irreplaceable green belt that they have re-designated and re-submit it for scrutiny before we lose this precious space.
