Supporters, what is happening over Falcon Field right now is completely out of control. Deer Valley is often called the busiest general aviation airport in the United States, yet the screenshot comparison speaks for itself: Deer Valley shows a handful of aircraft in the air, while Falcon Field is absolutely saturated, planes stacked in tight circles, swarming over neighborhoods in every direction, nonstop from morning until night. This is not normal airport activity. This is an unprecedented explosion of repetitive flight training traffic that has turned our community into a constant overhead racetrack, and families are being forced to live under it with no relief.
What makes this even more infuriating is that the FAA are allowing it to happen. There is no meaningful oversight, no enforceable noise mitigation, no accountability for schools running continuous pattern work over dense residential areas. Residents are being sacrificed for profit and convenience, and the impacts go far beyond annoyance. This is a serious environmental and public health issue. These aircraft are burning leaded aviation fuel directly over our homes, parks, and schools, meaning children are being exposed day after day to toxic lead emissions from above. In 2026, it is unacceptable that families are still expected to tolerate a steady stream of noise, stress, and pollution raining down on their neighborhoods because regulators refuse to modernize and leaders refuse to act.
And on top of all of this, Mesa taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize the unchecked growth of flight training operations. If Falcon Field is going to be run like a high-volume commercial training hub, then it must begin paying its own way. Landing fees must be implemented as soon as possible so that the financial burden is placed on the operators creating this traffic, not on the families and residents of Mesa who are already paying the price with their health, peace, and quality of life. The people of this city should not be funding an aviation industry that is overwhelming their own neighborhoods.
This is not just about “living near an airport.” This is about quality of life, health, and basic responsibility. Falcon Field was never meant to become an uncontrolled, all-day flight training factory imposed on an entire city. These screenshots are proof of what residents have been saying for months, this has escalated beyond anything reasonable, and it cannot become the permanent new normal. Please keep sharing this petition and demanding action, real noise relief, limits on repetitive training loops, responsible flight paths, landing fees, and accountability from the City and the FAA before this gets even worse.
We also want the community to know that as soon as the City Council vote is officially scheduled, the date and details will be immediately emailed out and posted publicly. We fully expect, and we need, a massive turnout from every affected neighborhood across Mesa. This issue impacts thousands of families, and our elected leaders must see, face-to-face, that the community is united and watching. When that vote happens, the room should be filled with residents demanding action, accountability, and real change.
